Carol Jean is a volunteer who gives in so many areas that we do not have space to list. With those limitations noted we will attempt to list her wonderful gift to our South Bay community.

She has worked with the Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels for over 1 5 years. Each day hot meals are prepared which are delivered to homebound, frail and elderly seniors.

As if working in this kitchen was not enough, Carol Jean spends her Wednesdays at the First Methodist Church in a program called Shared Bread. There she helps prepare a meal for those in need.

For the past year she has been in the Beach Cities Health District "Friend to Friend" program. In the program she is paired with a senior and spends time with her "friend" each week. We know that her work leads to better health for that senior.

Carol Jean also volunteers for "Cheer for Children" at UCLA when they have the children’s Christmas party, she also volunteers at Washington school in Redondo Reach for special events.

She states, "It has been a very enjoyable time of my life, being there to help others."
