Darrell GrayDarrell Gray

Mr. Gray has extended his helping hand generously for the past two years to the students of J.H. Hull Middle School. Newly retired, he decided that he wanted to use his time to help the children in our community increase their skills in math.

During his time at Hull, he attended 6th and 8th grade math classes in an effort to help students understand math better. He helps students who are either struggling or just need a little extra one on one assistance to acquire math skills. He is a tremendous service to students and teachers alike.

He supports a "Math Counts" program after school at Hull. He coaches a group of talented students as they prepared to complete last year. He has continued to coach again this year. His volunteering has impacted many fives. Mr. Gray also volunteers many hours to the Bartlett Senior Center in Torrance, volunteers with a Girl Scout Troop, involved with the RSVP "Stay @ Home" Program and is also there when we have our senior fair.

When asked what this volunteer role means to him he states, "I get a lot of good feelings about my work with the kids."
