Peter is an avid writer with great skills in computer graphics. After retiring from Northrop Aircraft in 1995, he did many civic volunteer jobs before coming to RSVP of South Bay. Just after he designed a Web Site to chronicle the life of his father, a RAF officer, he began looking in the local newspaper for something similar to occupy his time.
RSVP signed him on swiftly and the rest is history. Peter has been visiting our volunteer stations to interview the RSVP volunteers as they work. He states that he found this very enjoyable and after a short while got his wife, Margaret to join him as the official photographer.
After battling an illness this year that kept him away from his volunteer position, Peter was back with new energy and ready to tackle RSVP’s next challenge for him, to design our very own Web Site.
Today Peter is our Web Master, Editor and all. The site is visited by hundreds a month and is a wonderful vehicle for our volunteers to check in on new volunteer opportunities, see the articles that Peter has written, see who has just joined, record volunteer hours and acknowledge those with a birthday in that month.
Peter states, "I’m getting a lot of fun out of my volunteer work. There are so many volunteers working at so many stations that I don’t think that I will ever run out of things to put on the Web Site, so I look forward to many years of writing and continuing to improve the RSVP Web Site."
