It’s the "Tom Sawyer" feeling in those seniors who love to explore the nature of our neighborhood wetlands.
Madrona Marsh nestled in the heart of Torrance is the answer. It now offers even greater volunteer opportunities of explorations of the many aspects of plant life and animal life that exists in the middle of urban South Bay.
The newly build Nature Center takes the nature and delivers it to visitors in the form of classes and exhibitions that bring out the ooos and ahhhs to all who visit.
Volunteers, who formed "friends of The Madrona Marsh" provide volunteer time to act as docents to the public.
RSVP volunteers are need to work the Nature Center Gift Shop. You would assist the public with their purchases. Volunteers also have opportunities to be taught how to narrate docent work inside the center to the visiting public.
It’s fun. Call the RSVP Volunteer office at 320-3322 to find out how your can become a volunteer at this site
