    Become a volunteer instructor with the AARP Driver Safety Program! Teach this 8-hour classroom refresher course for motorists age 50+. We provide training and materials, and remimburse for program-related out-of-pocket expenses. Schedules are flexible and it's a great way to help others in your community. Next training for instructors will be June 11th.

  • * NEW* AUTOMOBILE DRIVING MUSEUM

    This a great place to volunteer! Volunteers needed in the little diner, the store, and also administrative help sorting and tracking many pieces of literature. Our hours are 10-4 on Saturday and Sunday. Volunteers needed for one or both days. Administrative volunteers could work during the week Tuesday – Friday 10-4. Volunteers can work as little hours ast they want. The museum will work out schedules as much as possible to accommodate the volunteers.

  • YWCA REQUEST

    Needed: Retired CPA to serve the YWCA (501(c) (3) organization located in San Pedro. Position requires 6 volunteer hours per month to review financial reports, etc. The YWCA is a program that offers self-sufficiency, confidence, growth and support for girls and their families in the South Bay. Many other services are offered through the YWCA.

  • Torrance-Lomita Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteers to deliver meals to house-bound citizens in Torrance and Lomita. Drivers and riders are needed for 1-1/2 shifts between 11:30am - 1pm on Mondays through Fridays. The volunteer can indicate which day(s) they are available and can volunteer on a regular or substitute basis. Please consider helping this worthwhile cause which enables seniors to continue to live in their own homes independently and with dignity. To volunteer, call RSVP at 310-320-3322.
  • PV on the Net has recently opened a New Computer Technology Center at the Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall Complex. Volunteers are needed to staff various positions. THE TRAVELING MUSEUM

In 1998, The Traveling Space Museum first thrilled students by bringing full-scale and fully functional simulators into schools and using them as teaching tools. We need volunteers who are interested in mentoring these kids in these school programs. These kids are interested in the sciences and need you as a volunteer to make this a better experience for them. This is a really fun filled project!

TRINITY HOSPICE CARE

Volunteers knit and crochet items from afghans to preemie booties. Need to have own hook or needles. Meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month. Attendance not necessary.

SOUTH BAY LITERACY

Help change peoples lives through literacy. South Bay Literacy has an urgent need for adult basic literacy tutors to teach reading. Computer tutors also needed. Training provided. ALL PROGRAMS ARE FREE.
