AMERICA
READS PROGRAM
Volunteers for the America Reads program sponsored by RSVP are
providing well over 2 hours a week of teaching children how to read.
Volunteers are also helping the children with other language skills
needed to advance their reading abilities. One of the reasons the
volunteers are providing more time in the America Reads program is
because of their devotion to the children and teaching them how to
read. Volunteers are always needed at one school or another. Teachers
have Volunteers read on a one to one basis or read to a group of
children. The children are always glad to see the volunteers come to
their school and help them learn how to read. Usually volunteers give 2
– 3 hours a week of their time to help in this valuable
program. Children who learn to read are children who learn to succeed
in the global community. Wouldn’t you like to participate?
Call 310-320-3322, Ges Davis, Program Manager for more information.
